VoiceThread

After using Voice Thread as something to experiment with, I am very certain it has a great amount of value, and the potential to have a long list of amount of uses. The first thought that comes when using this application for teaching purposes, is to create an educational video by the students perspective teacher. Not only would the Teacher have the ability to fill the video with information that they choose and want, but it would allow their students to view the video at their own pace. I didn’t think of this method until it was presented to the class, but it make clear and perfect sense to use it, having the student themselves create the video on something they learned. This give the students the power to create a lesson they just recently, giving the student deeper comprehension by teaching and explaining it themselves, increased motivation to learn the lesson, and the teacher would have a new way to assess how much the student learned.

  1. I agree I am not the most tech-savy person, but after using this I agree that it would be very beneficial for the classroom. I like the idea that students can go at their own pace. Many times there are issues to where the students have questions, but there is not enough time to answer them. I think this would be a great benefit for the new classrooms.

  2. I agree to some extent. I feel that voice thread is a great tool to have knowledge about because like you mentioned a teacher could use it to teacha a lesson while students watch it at home. This would be really useful for students who might have a problem and have to miss class, the teacher wouldn't have to reteach anything and no one would be behind. But I also feel that I personally like presentations in person more because I feel that they are easier to explain. I tend to think about new things to add to my presentation as I'm presenting especially if students ask questions because this triggers other information that I might have not thought about at first. Overall I think technology is also, and voice thread could be very useful but don't feel it's the best option all the time.

  3. Eric,

I like your points on how this new technology will be beneficial to the classrooms. Seeing that technology will only advance in the classrooms, as teachers we have to be able to keep up with it. Students have shown great responses to smart boards, ipads, and computers that have been implemented into the classrooms in the past few years. Introducing voice thread as a means of an educational tool will help them learn and have fun at the same time. Having them turn in assignments or read to each other through this technology will help their minds grow and make it more engaging for them at the same time.
